If you’re like us, you probably had no intention on donating to the Stone Indiegogo..until now. Recently during an event at the Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora, Stone Brewing announced the return of one its most popular collaboration ales- The DayMan Coffee IPA. Many of Stone’s collabs are three-way affairs, Two Brothers and Chicago’s own Aleman Brewing were partners on DayMan.
This beer holds a special place in our heart. (A) It really is a fantastic beer. (B) It was the winning recipe Aleman produced for the Iron Brew Competition (an underground brewing event that inspired our 1st ever documentary). Cheers to Nate Albrecht and James Moorehouse. Alongside our peeps at BeerFX we held crazy launch event known as the DayMan Multimedia Experience at the 1550 Bar last year, it was part of a week-long Chicago celebration for the original DayMan.
A few months after the IPA launch, Aleman teamed with Begyle Brewing and Stone for Redonkulous – a Hoppy Red Saison w/ Lime and Rum soaked Applewood. For their 3rd collab with the San Diego County based brewery they have decided to release a remix of the beer that started it all. Dayman Redux is rumored to be an imperial version of the Dayman, and will be brewed as part of the Stone Groundbreaking Collaborations Series.
A 1.5 Liter bottle of Dayman Redux will be sold for 30$ and is available by participating in
Stone’s Indiegogo campaign. Stone doesn’t view project as a fundraising campaign but rather as a chance to offer you unique 1.5-liter bottled “beer futures” at a special price. It’s an interesting concept, as the crew prepares to open a brewery in Berlin, Germany, they are selling redeemable vouchers for beers they’ve yet to make. The concept make sense, 6 of the 9 collaboration rewards announced are already sold out.
You can read all about how you can acquire a bottle of The Dayman Redux here.
CBG is all about the events that happen around town. Check out the taplist from the announcement party in Aurora.
