A Toast to Collaboration: Funkytown Brewery and Samuel Adams Release 1984 Pale Lager

American Dream Experienceship Winner, Funkytown Brewery.

Funkytown Brewery and Samuel Adams have joined forces to create the 1984 Pale Lager. This limited engagement lager was unveiled at a celebratory release party held at Sheffield’s Beer Garden, the iconic destination beer oasis located just blocks from Wrigley Field.

San Francisco Steam Yeast, Motueka and Tettnang hops are showcased here and the name is an ode to the year Boston Beer Company, Inc debuted.

8 Beers, 4 Sam Adams, 4 Funkytown Available At Launch

Founders of Funkytown Brewery—Rich Bloomfield, Zach Day, and Greg Williams—were on hand to welcome guests and share their experience of creating this beer with the first employee Samuel Adams ever hired.

This venture a significant milestone in a journey blending Funkytown’s innovative spirit with the heritage and expertise of one of America’s most recognizable beer brands.

Attendees of the release party were treated to the first sips of the 1984 Pale Lager, a timeless, old world experience reflecting the craftsmanship and drinkability both breweries are known for. The event not only highlighted the new beer but eight drafts total from the respective crews.
