Goose Island Announces The Return of Bourbon County Rare Day

Goose adds a 6th variant to this year’s BCS lineup.

We started to wonder what the hell is up with Goose. There was no 312 Block Party this year. Reports are they didn’t even attend Great Taste of the Midwest in 2024. But all is forgiven in our book as Chicago’s oldest brewery brings back their most revered brand – Bourbon County Rare.

Bourbon County Rare 2024 – King of Kentucky

No this is not aged Pappy Van Winkle 23yr barrels, nor is it the 24yr old Heaven Hill Barrels like in 2015. This right here is a Rye Stout aged in King of Kentucky barrels.

Saturday November 16th is Rare Day at Fulton.

Even for old curmudgeons like us King of Kentucky is a grail by all measures.

Beyond excited to see if the execution is where it should be to properly celebrate this one .

Bourbon County Rare 2024 is an Imperial Double Barrel Rye Stout . Aged one year in King of Kentucky barrels. Then transferred to another set of KOK barrels to age for another year.
